In 2015 I first started using maps as a medium, creating Narrative Maps to tell stories with old paper maps. Maps themselves are never neutral documentations of places, so my ‘manipulation' of geographic information follows in a long history. In using line and colour to build human subjects, I am also visualizing our connection to places and highlighting the disparity between small-scale human interaction and large-scale infrastructure.
If you are interested in a commissioned artwork with specific maps, I would love to discuss the possibilities with you. Please get in touch.
Some of the human silhouette Narrative Maps are available as prints: see shop
